El tercer corte sobre la estrategia de Fiscalización Minera Integral en Colombia muestra un importante avance, tal como se refleja en las más recientes cifras. Ambos consorcios, Bureau Veritas-Tecnicontrol y HGC, encargados de apoyar la fiscalización minera, han reportado ante la autoridad: 5.072 visitas de campo, 6.435 evaluaciones documentales y 2.238 informes de fiscalización integral elaborados en lo corrido del año.

Vale la pena recordar que en esta primera fase de fiscalización, la autoridad minera aplica un enfoque preventivo, de manera que frente a algún tipo de fallo, se hace un llamado de atención al titular minero para que aplique los correctivos del caso y en la próxima ronda de visitas reporte el correspondiente cumplimiento. No obstante, hay una excepción: la licencia ambiental, en tal caso –aún en esta primera fase de la estrategia-, se suspende el proyecto. Para reiniciar actividades deberá cumplir con el mencionado requisito.
