<u>Bogotá D.C., 21 de Agosto de 2013.</u> En medio de su estrategia de fiscalización minera, seguimiento y control a títulos mineros, la Agencia Nacional de Minería (ANM) reveló que durante el primer semestre de este año se registró un importante incremento en el pago del canon superficiario a cargo de los titulares mineros. En tal periodo, la ANM reportó un recaudo de<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>$20.600 millones</strong>; esta cifra equivale al 80% del monto logrado en todo 2012 (más de $25.000 mil millones) y es más del doble de la cifra registrada en primer semestre del año anterior ($9.264 millones)

El canon superficiario es un valor que el titular minero paga anualmente y de manera anticipada solamente en las etapas de exploración, construcción y montaje, según las hectáreas otorgadas.

La ANM reveló que a julio ya había superado las 7 mil visitas a títulos mineros en el país y aseguró que en septiembre prácticamente se habrá cerrado el primer ciclo de esta nueva estrategia, con la visita a los títulos mineros, la revisión documental y su correspondiente análisis. En el país existen más de 9.700 títulos mineros.
